I am excited for the opportunity to serve as Fire Chief of the Bartlett Fire Protection District. I started my fire service career with the Bartlett Fire Protection District in June of 1992 as a volunteer firefighter. After being hired by the Village of Palatine Fire Department in 1995, I continued with Bartlett Fire Protection District until 2012.
Having called this community home most of my life, I have a strong connection to its history, its culture, and its residents. To be named Fire Chief of the department where it all started for me is a blessing; it’s come full circle.
I have earned my Executive Fire Officer certification through the National Fire Academy-United States Fire Administration, Chief Fire Officer certification through the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal, as well as Chief Officer accreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. I am one of only 1,200 accredited fire chiefs worldwide. I earned my Master of Public Administration; Local Government Management and Leadership from Northern Illinois University, and Bachelor of Science; Fire Science Management (Cum Laude) from Southern Illinois University.
I'm a member of the Northern Illinois University MPA Board of Advisors and a peer reviewer for the Centers for Public Safety Excellence Chief Fire Officer designation.
I proudly served eight years in the United States Marine Corps where I attained the rank of Sergeant.
